Mikarose + Talaria Flats

I like to spice up the ordinary. I would describe my style as classic with a bit of edge. That maybe sounds super lame (it probably does), but I don’t know how else to put it. I like to be a little edgy. I like to mix and match styles. You know, the good stuff. So, when I was introduced to this collaboration with Mikarose, I got super excited because one thing that I LOVE to do is infuse my style into basics. Yes, although this skirt is floral, I’m still considering it a basic. It’s a more or less neutral colored pencil skirt–you can do a lot with that. And a leather jacket? Basic. Gray turtleneck? Basic. I appreciate my wardrobe staples, that’s for sure. You’d think, dang if I put all of my basics tighter that has to be a pretty boring outfit, but no! That’s not true at all! Having basics, or staples that you love in your wardrobe can create all kinds of outfits that not only you will love, but …

Snakeskin Meets Sneakers

I’m all about the the hightop sneakers these days. You name it, I’ll take it–hightop Converse, hightop Toms, and especially, hightop J Slides. These particular tan faux snakeskin covered magnificent hugs for my feet have come from a nicely packaged box on my doorstep and straight into my heart. I’ve been genuinely surprised with their high level of comfort too. Being a pointed toe and all, I thought that my toes might feel mega squished (you know, no breathing room), but they surprisingly don’t feel claustrophobic at all. They are as comfy as can be. I would definitely go at least a half size up though, they run a tad small. Now, I am excited to tell you the best part… They are 50% off right now! You really can’t beat that, ever. My newfound shoe love has me obsessed! They pair perfectly with joggers (yes these are the same joggers from my last post, but they’re just THAT good) for an easy as pie athleisure look. Let’s face it, athleisure is basically all anyone wears nowadays anyway. P.S. …

Trending Now: Athleisure

Today I’ve joined forces with Sandy, from the Sandy A La Mode blog, to bring you (drumroll please) a dressed-up athleisure look, so that you can be comfy and feel like a babe all at the same time! Heels, joggers, a sweatshirt AND lipstick. Yep, I’ve got the whole 9 yards. But, whoa, whoa, whoa. Heels and a clutch with joggers? Heck to the yes. While pairing heels or a clutch with really anything that you might wear to the gym has previously been a HUGE fashion no-no, these days it’s totally doable thanks to athleisure. A little side note… This clutch from Gaia is one of my closet’s favorite new things, plus I love supporting a worthy cause. All of Gaia’s products are handmade with vintage, repurposed and sustainable materials by refugee women in need. Their goal? To lead women to financial independence and self-sufficiency in an effort to unlock their potential for a brighter future. If that’s not a worthy cause, I don’t what is. Plus it fits in effortlessly to aid in bridging the gap between a simple loungewear outfit …

Sweater Weather

Oh, Vegas how fabulously warm you are. It was so nice to actually feel the sun for a change. It’s been way too long since I’ve been able to walk around in a t-shirt. Plus, with all of the hustle and bustle of the convention, I definitely got my exercise, which I totally need to do more often. But, that’s a whole other topic… Yes, Vegas was great and sunny, but now it’s back to sweater weather here in Utah. Although I am SO ready for spring, I can handle it being cold for a bit longer only because I get to enjoy layering up. If you’re like me, you feel like layering basically saves your life when you step outside because you feel as if the cold air might actually stop your heart this time. Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but honestly, it’s so cold! Cozy cardigans save me and I love a layered look, so there’s that too. Sadly, this comfy plaid cardigan is all sold out, but Paige Avenue (such a cute little shop) …

Mustard Dress

The guide to your easiest outfit ever: Step 1: Put on your Dainty Jewells dress. Step 2: Look amazing. But seriously, this dress is the key to a fun, super easy, comfortable, and date night worthy outfit. I love a long, cozy dress, who doesn’t? There’s nothing better than feeling like you’re wearing a robe when in fact you’re all dressed up. And that my friends is why this dress is bomb (plus it’s on sale)! Dainty Jewells carries sizes small to 3x, so there’s really something for everyone. Whether it be a more casual dress like mine, or a more elegant dress for your sister’s wedding, they have options for days. So, if you’re in the market for a new dress, you’re going to want to check them out! As for this week, I’m off to Vegas for basically the most fun work trip my life has ever seen. So, make sure to follow along on my Instagram for my adventures in the city! Shop my look: dress | bracelet(s) | crystal necklace(similar) | bar necklace | hat | boots

Floral Booties

Let’s talk floral. A, it’s fabulous. B, I want everything floral. And yep, that pretty much sums it up. So, floral booties that are waterproof in the dreary winter when I live in cold, snowy Utah? You can count me in. These Elliott Lucca boots do not disappoint. Not only are they super cute and trendy, but they are furry on the inside! It’s like stepping into a pillow (a.k.a. heaven). You can even get pumps, flats, and a purse all in the same gorgeous botanical floral. I’m pining after the heels myself… And, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect leopard clutch (although I’ve owned a few) this is THE one. Like, THE one. The one that I will vow to hold forever because it’s just that good. I’ve never been a “big spenda” when it comes to a clutch, but this one is totally worth it. Plus, it’s not really even a splurge because it’s under $80, so hellooo it’s a no brainer. Aside from the multiple packages that have been stolen …

Leopard Love

Leopard is my favorite thing. It’s just my favorite. Leopard clutch? Yes please! Leopard boots? Oh yeah! A leopard coat? Shut the front door–I need it. I have been seeing more and more faux fur leopard coats pop up and man oh man I am so glad that I finally got my hands on one. At first I thought to myself, “What on earth am I going to wear this with? My life is not that fancy…”, but then I decided, hey, why not dress it down? I don’t have galas to attend so a leopard coat may seem a bit extreme, but it’s totally not! I literally wear it with sneakers and it’s fabulous. I sort of wear sneakers with everything these days… I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous, but it’s totally applicable and I am so happy that I finally pulled the trigger and bought one. So, if you’re like me and you’re all about leopard, just go for it! Rock your leopard coat girrrl! And P.S. this fab sequin clutch is from …

Chooka Boots

Rain boots, they are pretty much all I wear lately. With the snow storms that have been overrunning the city, it’s honestly too wet and slushy to wear anything else. Rain boots are pretty much my only option. Thankfully, I have found the reigning king of rain boots–Chooka Boots. I even like them better than my Hunter rain boots! And this is why: They fit better (they aren’t as large and clunky). The detail. I love the leather straps on the side, it adds a little something extra. They are about half the price of Hunter rain boots! Simply put, I love them. I super love them. And by the looks of it, we will be BFFs for a VERY long time. My advice for the winter? Get yourself some Chooka boots. P.S. my floral hat and striped dress are from Mindy Mae’s Market where you can get 20% off using code “quick20” (woohoo)!   Shop my look: boots | dress | hat | jacket | sweatshirt | bracelets

Snow Run

Bright leggings, check. Soft hoodie, check. BEST NIKE SHOES EVER, check. The only thing missing is the sun. Dear Utah Winter, I’m ready for you to be over. It is SO cold. Most of the time plan my outfits around whether it’s going to snow or not, but this time those snowflakes and freezing winds were not going to stop me, although they almost did. But, lucky for me, spring is right around the corner and I am trying to stay optimistic about how long this winter weather will stick around. I could do with a little less snow… For now, I will have to keep chuggin’ along with my comfy sweatshirt and my new fave leggings (and the shoes–hallelujah for the Nikes). I guess I can’t complain!     Shop my look: shoes | tee | sweatshirt | leggings
