Easy Dress & Leather Heels

Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world. I love that quote. I love the depth of it. Think about it– You step into your own shoes every day, right? You may step into heels or sneakers or sandals, but they’re yours and you go about your day in them. How you live your life in your shoes is your choice and yours alone. You can waive to a stranger on the street, or give a nice compliment. You can open the door for a person in need, or simply smile. Many times it can be easier to ignore the world around you and only focus on what’s happening in your life, in your shoes. But what about everybody else? What about living life in their shoes? When you think about conquering the world you may think about big things, end-game dreams, which is great, we all do it. But I guess lately, I just want to conquer my day. Did I accomplish the tasks that I wanted to? Did I come …

Sole Serum

Wearing heels (I’m honestly kind of a baby when it comes to heels), working out really hard, moving (this is what I’m currently experiencing), jumping up and down at a concert (this also just happened), or just having a really busy day. All reasons why your feet might ache and why mine do. We can probably all agree that it sucks. Heaven knows I don’t wear heels as much as I should (I’m trying, I’m trying…), but I did just move and let me tell you, that makes your feet hurt. Running around all day, up and down stairs, lifting heavy boxing and delegating where things go. It’s exhausting. So, lucky me, I was able to snag some Sole Serum to relieve some of that pain. The serum is really convenient because the bottle is small enough to just plop in your purse when you’re on the go in some not so comfortable shoes. I just use 2-3 pumps and that seems to do the trick! It almost kind of tingles when you first put it on …

3 Athleisure Must-Haves

Athleisure is a must. Knock if you want, but it’s not going anywhere! Number one, these buttery soft leggings. I’ll admit when I tore open the package to see them inside, (I get VERY excited when packages come) I was a little shocked. They’re tiny. Like, toddler sized. I thought that maybe the people at NUX might be crazy to think that adult humans would be that small… I showed my husband and he laughed suggesting that they may have sent me the incorrect size. Wrong. They were in fact the correct size. So, I laughingly (honestly as a joke) began to try them on and to my surprise, they fit! And I love them! They are so dang comfy. Honestly, they feel like I’m wearing no pants at all! SO stretchy. These babies go on like butter and act as if they were your skin. So yes, I was wrong. Very wrong. Number two, these shoes! I was STOKED when I found these sneakers at Famous Footwear. I’d been looking for a pair of new …

Perfectly Plaid

This heat is ridiculous. It’s been unbearably hot lately and I’m pretty over it… It’s hard to find cute things to wear when it’s this hot. Everything just feels… too thick, too tight, too much fabric. Getting dressed is miserable because by the time I get my outfit put together I’m so sweaty you’d think that I just ran a marathon– Gross. Crank up the AC! That my friends is why I am loving light, flowy dresses lately. This one from Copper Theory is perfect because it’s super lightweight and a bit oversized so it doesn’t stick to you in the heat (hooray!). There’s nothing worse than have your sweaty clothes stick to you when you’re outside– No thanks! You can actually enjoy a breeze in this dress, it’s wonderful. In other news, we finally moved in to our new home! I AM SO EXCITED! It doesn’t even seem real… I can’t believe we finally bought a house! We’re still half way living out of boxes– It’s kind of a mess… BUT it’s coming together …

Red, White, & Striped

We of course just had the hustle, bustle and patriotism of 4th of July a few weeks back (which I love), and now here in Utah, it’s time to get ready for the 24th of July! To outsiders it’s basically just another 4th of July at the end of the month, another excuse to celebrate, which it kind of is, but hey, who doesn’t want to celebrate independence twice? I love the sense of patriotism here. It makes me feel all of the warm fuzzies. The sense of camaraderie, everyone coming together and uniting to celebrate one thing– our nation. Despite any differences in views, lifestyles, background, we come together united as one, and that to me is a wonderful feeling. I actually really like a red, white and blue color scheme and I often pair the colors together. It doesn’t have to be the 4th of July (or the 24th) to rock a patriotic palette. I do think it is a bit more of a summertime vibe, but I’ll wear it all summer long! …

Picnic at the Park

I LOVE summer. Vacations to the beach, staycations at the pool, and picnics in the park. My husband and I have actually had quite a few picnics this summer. We grab a blanket, picnic basket and some grub–viola, a nice peaceful evening. It feels great to be outside in nature, soak up the sun a little. BUT we’ve made sure that we always have sunscreen. Jono got a horrible sunburn the first year that we were married (his skin turned colors that no human’s should…) so we’ve learned our lesson! Lather up if you’re going outside! Like I’ve said before, I love the Silk Hydration Sunscreen by Hawaiian Tropic. Number one, it is super hydrating and not sticky (hallelujah) and number two, it smells like a delicious orangesicle. It’s always nice to have a UVA + UVB sunscreen that feels like more of a lotion and less of a baby oil! I hope that you are enjoying your time outside this summer. Even if you can’t take a vacation, take a staycation! It’s worth it. My mini …

Comfy Maxi

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, let me tell you. Our move-in date for our new home keeps getting pushed back over and over again and it’s been quite the emotional roller coaster. Moving into a home is stressful enough but add on that it’s our very first home and that issues beyond our control keep coming to the surface which prevent us from moving in? Well, let’s just say that I’m beyond frustrated. Our situation may not be unique (I’ve heard horror stories about home buying that put our seemingly small issues to shame) but regardless, our situation is making me feel a little trapped, very anxious and… Crazy. Thankfully I have my sweet husband to fall back on (thank heaven for him). I’ve been working from home, many times in my robe (don’t judge me), but there are definitely days where I’d like to feel/look cute, but jeans are far from an option. This comfy maxi dress has saved me! While I work and prep and feel like I’m running around with my head chopped off …

50 items for under $100: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… No it’s not Christmas (but it feels like it). It’s the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! This is by far my favorite sale of the year. Nordstrom has so many great deals going on! The sale launched today (woohoo!) exclusively for card members only with public access starting July 22nd. I opened up a card because of last year’s Anniversary Sale and I’m so glad that I did! The card links straight to your debit account and you get a $20 Nordstrom Note (a gift card essentially) for every $100 that you spend. It’s fabulous! I’ve been scrolling, searching and clicking add to cart all morning to find you the very best deals from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. EVERYTHING that I’ve compiled is under $100. Yes, everything! I found the best of the best deals ladies! It’s the perfect opportunity to plan (and let your peeps know) what you want for your anniversary, birthday, Christmas… Plan out your holidays ladies. You’re going to want to. Plus, you can snag fabulous fall items at unbeatable …

Summer Jeggings

Yes, this post is about jeggings, in a way… I’ll get to that. But first, I’d like to pose a few questions: Why do we always only have to be one thing? We’re preppy, we’re sporty, we’re boho, we’re this, we’re that. Pick a Spice Girl. Why do have to only fit one mold? Why must we classify ourselves as one thing? I always hated debate class. I hated it because I had to choose a side. But, more often than not, I could see both sides of the story. I could identify with both scenarios. I never wanted to pick a side because I don’t see the world as black and white. In my experience there is always a gray area, even if it’s a small one. I have a lot of thoughts… I’m a thinker. I’m always in my head. When I’m driving I’m not just driving. I’m Adele on stage, lights dim, singing Send My Love. I’m passionate, I’m emotional and yes, stubborn. I believe in things whole heartedly even when I’m wrong. I’m …

Retro Trends

We’re all feeling nostalgic these days. Retro fashion is killing it right now. Let’s take a walk down memory lane shall we? Cat eye sunglasses from the 50’s and 60’s are everywhere lately, and the embroidery of the 70’s is making a comeback. Not to mention the 90’s are alive with chokers and colored denim in full swing. So many trends can be mashed together to create one unique outfit and I LOVE it. Keeps things interesting you know? For this look I’ve combined a few retro pieces, but I’ve also styled these new age heeled clogs from Emu Australia. Let me tell you, these have become some of my very favorite heels because… – Number one, the natural neutral colors can be paired with black or brown which makes things so nice. I’m obsessed with the three straps each in a different natural tone. – Number two, they are way easy to dress up or down– Hallelujah! – And number three, they are super comfy PLUS they’re on sale for 50% off, so now is …
