Say YES to clogs

Oh how I love me some leather clogs… Let me tell you why— First, they’re actually way comfy. I was kinda nervous, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised! It’s safe to say these babies from Seaside Soles will serve me well this spring. Second, they’re casual enough to wear on an everyday basis, but cool enough to wear on the weekend too. Woohoo! And third, well these Free People clogs bring the funk back into your life. So come on, join in! Partake in keeping the 70’s alive! It’s a flash from the past, but with a twist! I’ve paired them here with a light pink bandana and my cord pinafore dress to keep the retro vibes alive. I know I’ll be enjoying my clog-filled bohemian spring! Check out my other look with Seaside Soles here 🙂 Have a great rest of your week! xoxo, Karlee Shop: Clogs (exact)     Thanks to Seaside Soles for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

All Gray Everything

It’s been a stressful week at work, so I’m glad that it’s almost the weekend! I’m also pumped that it finally stopped raining so that I can bring out all of my suede + leather faves… I love a leather bucket bag because it’s perfect both functionally and for style. This one from Dagne & Dover has really great compartments inside which is seriously a luxury. All of their bags are really function, designed specifically for girls on the go. I love this one because of the fun geometric pattern on the lower half. It’s a nice special touch! As for this gray suede piece of heaven, it’s from ILY Couture– One of my favorite boutiques. They have really cute graphics all of the time. I own this pullover and these comfy joggers. I’d been eyeing this jacket for a while, so when I saw that ILY had it I knew I needed to get one for myself. I just love the silhouette. It’s such a better shape AND quality than any other suede jackets …

Seasonal Stripes & Metallics

It’s been an exhausting day people. It’s like the never ending Tuesday… But I’ve been excited to talk about a few spring trends that are super easy to accomplish👌🏼 When thinking of spring trends, light pastels and florals always come to mind– That’s a given. But this season, I’m especially loving the all things stripes trend and all of the metallic options. Statement stripes, banker stripes, seaside stripes… You name it, it’s happening. And metallics? They’re everywhere! Metallic skirts, tops and shoes (my personal fave). I’ve put together a very casual toned down version of any sort of lavish trend. I wanted to showcase a super easy Saturday look with stripes + metallics that’s totally doable! I went a little nautical by adding in the red ascot. These baby scarves… I can’t get enough! I also have to mention that these heels are super comfy. Definitely easy to walk in for extended periods of time (if you need to). And I treat gold as a neutral, so it’s hard to find something that they don’t go with! …

5 Ways to Achieve a Dreamy (and affordable) Guest Bedroom

Having trouble putting together your guest bedroom? Fear not! I have 5 tips to ensure your guest bed is killer! 1. It should be a peaceful space. Neutrals are great for guest bedrooms because they’re naturally calming. Veer away from overwhelming colors as not to give your guests a headache. This doesn’t mean that you can’t have color, just use colors as accents, not your main source. Simple curtains and duvet covers are not only great solid pieces, but they’re generally less expensive than ornately detailed pieces.     2. Keep things cozy. Give your guest some blankets. Even if they don’t end up using them, as a guest it’s nice to feel like you have what you need and avoid any awkwardness in asking. Try a blanket basket. It’s cute annnd functional.     3. Try mixing a few different styles of decor. When you utilize more than one style, your guests are more likely to feel at home. When your guest room is too modern it can feel cold and uninviting. If it’s …

Suede Meets Sandals

The weather has been a little up and down lately and I’m sick of it at this point. Anybody feel me? I feel like every time I look out the window like yeeeah it’s going to be sunny and warm today, I step outside and it’s COLD. Bleh. We’ve had a few actual warm days, but the weather has mostly been a tease. But that won’t stop me from wearing sandals! My hope is that by wearing them, I’ll send all the good warm weather vibes my way. Right?! 😉 Lately my sandals of choice are these blue suede beauties from Sofft. They are incredibly comfy. Heaven knows I’ll be wearing them way too often this season! I even have two similar styles from last summer (yes, I love them that much). They’re great because they pair well with athleisure and a girl has got to have her leggings! I just can’t even wait for summer. I daydream of being poolside somewhere tropical… Anyway, definitely check out the Mira Sandal from Sofft. The quality honestly can’t be …

Slip Dress Layering

I’m sure you’ve seen it everywhere at this point, but I am LOVING the slip dress layering trend. I’ve never been a person who has felt all that comfortable in a tank (I just can’t get past the side-boob) sooo layering up is really the perfect option for me. If you’re a layering gal, you’re going to like this post 😉 Here are my top 5 reasons why you should try slip dress layering: The combinations are virtually endless. Pair your dress with solids, prints, short sleeve, long sleeve, you name it! Same dress, different layering combo! This trend transitions well from season to season. The layering doesn’t have to stop at what’s under your dress. Throw on a killer leather moto jacket for fall, or a denim jacket for spring. Bada bing bada boom. It pushes your style creativity. You’re bound to find a combo with what you already have in your closet. Have some fun with this trend. No rules allowed 😉 Have a killer dress that’s too low to wear by itself? Layer …

Spring Season Vibes

It’s time to whip out those white jeans again ladies! Bring oooon the sun! I love spring because it’s the time of rebirth. It’s so fun to see greenery that once seemed lifeless come back into full bloom again. We moved into our house back in July and it was a HOT month. The builder had planted two small trees and until last week I honestly thought they were goners. With a hot summer and a short fall, we hadn’t seen any life from the poor little guys– But then it happened! Beautiful white blossoms. Woohoo for spring! About this look– Yes, I’ve brought out my white jeans and I’m ready to keep them out for a while 😉 But let’s talk about this top from Ruthie Grace Boutique for a second— The rose patches placed on the sleeves are obviously my favorite part, but I also love the fit. It’s a loose fit, which is what I like to sport during the warmer seasons. The acid wash/distressed look of the fabric is also fun. …

Clarins Body Fit

Helloooo San Fransisco! Jono and I are just enjoying a little weekend getaway. And the view from our hotel is BOMB. But, let’s talk fitness for a second. It has been one of my goals this year to become more firm. I’m tired of being squishy. I’m not trying to lose inches or anything, I just want to feel… Harder. More toned. It’s not too much to ask for (or so I thought) so I figure it’s a good goal. I’ve discovered that I’m pretty weak #embarrassing. Meh, oh well. I’m working on it! Anyway… While on my new mission to get fit, I discovered this really great product called Body Fit by Clarins and it’s kind of genius. A product that helps reduce cellulite? Like, whaaaaa? I didn’t even know that was a thing! All of the product reviews that I read were amazing, sooo I decided to try it. I’ll admit, even after reading all of the raving reviews I was still a little skeptical, but I’m starting to see a difference! My …

The Perfect Spring Shoe

Real talk– the Free People Royale is one of spring’s “it” shoes and one of my personal favorites. The design is so perfect for warm weather, which we’re all hoping is headed our way soon. These beauties have been sold out basically everywhere, but I’ve found them for you! Seaside Soles has them available in this rich cognac color, and they also have them available in black. There are a lot of copycat versions out there, but I’ll be the first to tell you that they aren’t the same as the real thing. Personally, I would much rather splurge on a nice pair of shoes than pay for something that I know will fall apart after one season. Nothing peeves me more than unreliable, uncomfortable, give you blisters kind of shoes– They’re the worst! I will forever love this fabulous pair of shoes! The leather is so rich and the sole molds to your foot as if it were made just for you! Seaside Soles also has other great styles– Totally check them out. You can find …

Mix N’ Match Style

Sometimes I just like to incorporate more than one trend into my look. Yes, I may get over zealous at times, (lots of wardrobe changes until I find the right combo) but mixing and matching is fun! I’ve listed three of my favorite trends to combine right now– Let me know what you think! The Ascot. Bandanas & silky ascot scarves are coming back for spring. It’s time to ditch your thick knit scarf and get something lighter for the sunnier days that lie ahead. Embroidery (duh). You’re probably sick of me talking about my embroidery obsession at this point… I just can’t help myself! It adds such beautiful detail! A new spin on an old classic. Remember enamel pins from your younger years? Well, they’re coming back and they’re as cool as ever. You also need to check out these killer knotted sandals from Maude. I’d size up though. Mine are a tad snug! I want to see your mix n’ match style! Don’t be afraid to branch out and sport different colors and patterns. …
