Holiday Girls Night

This post has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GladeHolidayCheer #CollectiveBias Anybody call for a girls night? ’Tis the season for giving, so kick off your shoes and have a ladies night! There’s just something special about getting together with your gal pals and celebrating the holidays. Although I could do without Utah’s long winters, I really do enjoy this time of year. It might just be my favorite… The events, the food, and the downright feeling all make this time of year the very most special. I feel I might be even more sentimental since baby girl will be here come January! Let’s talk holiday prep… Story of all of our lives, right? There’s the decorating, the shopping, the cooking… The list goes on and on! Although getting everyone together and chillin’ with your family is what this season is all about, I’m also a fan of a good ol’ fashion ladies night (with a twist!). When you’re 8 months pregnant, prepping for a party, let …

Straighten Your Smile: Candid Co.

Let me paint you a picture… I’m a fourteen year-old brace face that absolutely dreads going to the orthodontist. I’m super self conscious about my teeth, not to mention zit-faced and awkward. This mouth full of metal hated, yes hated with a fiery burning passion, having braces. By the time I got them, they just weren’t cool anymore. You know when you’re young and you think that braces are cool? Yeah, they were not cool when I had them… After two years of my mouth bleeding and my teeth aching, I never wanted to see the orthodontist again. EVER. So what did I do? When I got my retainer, after all of the agony of my braces, I didn’t wear it. Okay, so my mom maybe made me wear it for like a year, but after that I put it in its case in my bathroom and never looked back. Now, as an adult, my teeth have of course shifted and I’m kicking myself for being an irresponsible adolescent. Ugh. So, why the trip down …

Baby Registry w/ Target + Johnson & Johnson

This post has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #RegisteringForBaby #CollectiveBias When you’re expecting baby number one, everything is a little, well… Overwhelming? All of the baby advise, all of the option for baby gear… It’s terribly exciting and overcoming all at the same time. I for one am the kind of gal that believes you should do things your own way. I’m a go with your gut kind of person, so I feel like you’ve gotta do what you think is right and what you feel good about. After all, we’re all supposed to have that mama intuition, right? And I think that comes in all different shapes and sizes! Regardless of how we want to parent, we all need at least some gear for our little bundle of joy! Let’s talk baby registries. For today’s post, I’ve partnered with Target and Johnson & Johnson for a little baby looove. (Hover over the image above to shop these items!!) So, here’s the scoop— I’ve been nesting …

Mini Vacations

Jono and I are all about the mini vacations. Of course heading up to Park City for the weekend would be a fantastic mini vacation, although an expensive one… More often we take our mini vacations right in town. Even if it’s simply going to the local bakery and heading to the park— It’s a break from work and worry! This summer you’ll bet we’ll be outside, so yes once again, I’ll be armed with my Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration® Weightless Face Lotion. We’ve been slowly but surely putting in our back yard and Jono has been swearing by this stuff. I have to say, he’s getting a pretty good farmer’s tan! 😉 But in all honesty, it really is so important to protect your skin. I feel that now more than ever. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again— I love Hawaiian Tropic because it provides both broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection with high quality ingredients. It’s definitely my favorite facial sunscreen that I’ve ever used. I’m really looking forward to having …

Sunday Walks

Jono and I decided to take a little stroll by the river on Sunday and it was SO refreshing. It’s hard to get out sometimes because once we both get home from work we’re pretty exhausted. We took this last Sunday as an opportunity to get out of the house and do something other than watch Netflix… We’ve since made it a goal to do more outdoorsy stuff this summer. There are some really great hikes and other outdoor activities in Utah, but we don’t always take advantage like we should. We’ve planned do some camping, definitely more local hikes, and go to Yellowstone this summer (I’ve never been!). We both really enjoy the outdoors, it’s just a matter of making the time to actually go, you know? With work and everything else that we have going on, I feel like our days start filling up so quickly! I know that I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m becoming much more conscious about my skin, and the products that I use. I’ve noticed that my body …

Easy DIY Couples Costumes

This post will be short because if you don’t have a costume yet, you’ll probably need all of the time you can get to make one 😉 I love homemade costumes– They’ve always been my favorite. Unless you want to spend a lot of money, costumes that are pre-made and ready to go, always seem a little cheap to me. There’s something about that thin, shiny material… One big bodysuit, just velcroed on the back. You know what I mean? Anyway, this year my husband and I decided to take a trip back in time and dress up as Bert and Mary Poppins for Halloween. I’m pretty excited! The great thing about this costume is that you probably have pretty much everything you need already, but if you don’t, I’ve linked it all below! I hope you have a fun (and safe) Halloween! And that you get your costume ready in time! Here’s everything you’ll need for Mary Poppins: And here’s everything you’ll need for Bert: There’s a few renditions of Bert and Mary costumes, but …

Conquering the Sniffles

It’s been a rough few days as my husband and I have both been sick. Bleh. It tends to happen as the seasons change, so we just have to roll with it! Although we’ve been in our new house almost 2 months now, any sort of cold/flu remedy supplies seem to have been lost in the move. So, we knew that we needed to make that dreaded “sick trip” to the grocery store and stock up on supplies. I’m going to be honest with you, I’ve never been a person that buys tissues. I’ve purchased those little mini packs at the dollar store to keep in my purse or car, those come in handy, but never for the house. I now feel like I’ve been living like a barbarian. When I told my husband that we were headed to Sam’s Club to pick up a jumbo box of Puff’s Plus Lotion tissues, he was unreasonably excited. But then I used them on my raw little snot nose and decided that his excitement was totally reasonable. …

3 Easy Ways to Stay Motivated

This post has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.#NourishWhatsNext #CollectiveBias Confession time– I get hangry (angry-hungry). There’s really no better way to describe it… I get discouraged, exhausted, etc., but the one thing that I don’t do is quit (although at times it may be tempting).  We all have the struggles of the daily grind, each experience unique. Although we may all have different battles to conquer, I believe there are at least a few constants. So, here’s my most simple advice on how to stay energized and motivated throughout your day: Walk around. If you have a job where you’re at a desk for a long time, get up and move. Stretch, take a stroll, whatever you need to do to get your blood flowing. Don’t let that bum get numb 😉 Build relationships. Talk to your coworkers and get to know them! Help each other, build each other up. You can’t #girlboss alone! And for crying out loud, eat! It’s amazing to me how many people forget to …

sole-serum-pain-free-6

Sole Serum

Wearing heels (I’m honestly kind of a baby when it comes to heels), working out really hard, moving (this is what I’m currently experiencing), jumping up and down at a concert (this also just happened), or just having a really busy day. All reasons why your feet might ache and why mine do. We can probably all agree that it sucks. Heaven knows I don’t wear heels as much as I should (I’m trying, I’m trying…), but I did just move and let me tell you, that makes your feet hurt. Running around all day, up and down stairs, lifting heavy boxing and delegating where things go. It’s exhausting. So, lucky me, I was able to snag some Sole Serum to relieve some of that pain. The serum is really convenient because the bottle is small enough to just plop in your purse when you’re on the go in some not so comfortable shoes. I just use 2-3 pumps and that seems to do the trick! It almost kind of tingles when you first put it on …

Picnic at the Park

I LOVE summer. Vacations to the beach, staycations at the pool, and picnics in the park. My husband and I have actually had quite a few picnics this summer. We grab a blanket, picnic basket and some grub–viola, a nice peaceful evening. It feels great to be outside in nature, soak up the sun a little. BUT we’ve made sure that we always have sunscreen. Jono got a horrible sunburn the first year that we were married (his skin turned colors that no human’s should…) so we’ve learned our lesson! Lather up if you’re going outside! Like I’ve said before, I love the Silk Hydration Sunscreen by Hawaiian Tropic. Number one, it is super hydrating and not sticky (hallelujah) and number two, it smells like a delicious orangesicle. It’s always nice to have a UVA + UVB sunscreen that feels like more of a lotion and less of a baby oil! I hope that you are enjoying your time outside this summer. Even if you can’t take a vacation, take a staycation! It’s worth it. My mini …
