Gimme All The Plaid

It’s impossible for me to leave the house without wearing a big, warm coat these days. My hands are always ice– Like, so freaking cold… My feet are too. Shoes and heavy socks don’t do much for me. I even keep a blanket at my desk at work because burr. FREEZING COLD. Even though the sun shines from time to time, walking outside is pretty miserable. I sometimes think it doesn’t look so bad, and then I have to run to my car from the front door of my work building and the whole time I think it may really be the end… This is what hell feels like– Bitter cold. Call me dramatic but daaaang. I always forget how hard the winters are here.  That my friends is why if you see me, you best believe I’ll be bundled up. You can find this fab coat (it’s mega comfy and almost sold out, so hurry!) at Maude Boutique annnd it’s on super sale!! These booties (also on sale) and my cutesy cactus earrings are also …

Back in Black

I’m a fan of whole black on black thang. It makes it so easy to incorporate other trends into your look and make them stand out. Here’s the thing about a monochromic look— You can make some killer kicks the focal point of your entire outfit. Yeah, baby! Shoe lovers over heeeeere! Suede booties are always fantastic, but these oxblood western style ones are super on trend for fall (I’m obsessed). I cradle these babies and tuck them in at night because they are just that good! Or, you might add some velvet kicks to your monochromic look, or some embroidered ones… OH! Or boots with some fab buckles! The possibilities are endless… Either way, with a black palette, you can feel comfortable wearing a pair of boots that may be a little more on the wilder side. Check out this post for the best boots to invest in for fall & winter. Although this look may appear well thought out, it is actually effortless to pull off. I literally have my hair in the same clip …

Chooka Boots

Rain boots, they are pretty much all I wear lately. With the snow storms that have been overrunning the city, it’s honestly too wet and slushy to wear anything else. Rain boots are pretty much my only option. Thankfully, I have found the reigning king of rain boots–Chooka Boots. I even like them better than my Hunter rain boots! And this is why: They fit better (they aren’t as large and clunky). The detail. I love the leather straps on the side, it adds a little something extra. They are about half the price of Hunter rain boots! Simply put, I love them. I super love them. And by the looks of it, we will be BFFs for a VERY long time. My advice for the winter? Get yourself some Chooka boots. P.S. my floral hat and striped dress are from Mindy Mae’s Market where you can get 20% off using code “quick20” (woohoo)!   Shop my look: boots | dress | hat | jacket | sweatshirt | bracelets

Franco Sarto: Talkin’ Booties

I used to have a shoe problem. It’s fixed now, but I definitely used to have a shoe problem. A few years back, I finally came to the conclusion that I would rather spend a little extra on a pair of shoes and have them for numerous seasons, than buy cheap shoes and have to consistently replace them. I once was the girl who persistently bought cute, trendy pairs of cheap boots at the local shoe store in the mall. But, it was heartbreaking to be disappointed over and over again when the shoes only lasted for a few months. Let me tell you, those days are gone. It’s just too painful to fall in love with a pair of shoes and have to break up with them because they literally want to make you rip your feet off. Or, they are so worn out from one month of wear that they’ve acquired a series of uncomfortable holes. Quality time is my love language people. I want to spend valuable time with my shoes. I want them to …
