Spring Season Vibes

It’s time to whip out those white jeans again ladies! Bring oooon the sun! I love spring because it’s the time of rebirth. It’s so fun to see greenery that once seemed lifeless come back into full bloom again. We moved into our house back in July and it was a HOT month. The builder had planted two small trees and until last week I honestly thought they were goners. With a hot summer and a short fall, we hadn’t seen any life from the poor little guys– But then it happened! Beautiful white blossoms. Woohoo for spring! About this look– Yes, I’ve brought out my white jeans and I’m ready to keep them out for a while ūüėČ But let’s talk about this top from Ruthie Grace Boutique for a second‚ÄĒ The rose patches placed on the sleeves are obviously my favorite part, but I also love the fit. It’s a loose fit, which is what I like to sport during the warmer seasons. The acid wash/distressed look of the fabric is also fun. …

Tassel Satchel

It’s been storming like crazy here! It’s seriously insane. It snowed last night, then rained, then snowed AGAIN. So driving in the snow/ice slippery death mix was far from fun. And then of course you have those people who still want to go 90mph on the freeway. No matter where¬†you’re going, it isn’t so important that you need to endanger your life and the lives of everyone else on the freeway. Yes, I am that person angrily glaring at your truck, icy cold fingers clenched to my steering wheel.¬† Any way, I try and take advantage of sunny, non snowy days. They’re few and far between lately. I think my hopes for a reasonable winter are gone, ha. But hey, that means I get to hit the mountains and riiiiiide.¬† This look was pre horrifying snow storm, obviously. With highs of less than 20 degrees lately, I’m praying for the days when I can wear this outfit again. I’m a big texture person, and I looove mixing fun textures like these velvet joggers and this …

Goal Crushing

Yesterday at work, we did a service project¬†where we went and built a playground for a local preschool/after school care center. It was really neat to be able to help put into motion a goal that the center had been working toward for some time, and to hear the stories about the children who had been dreaming of a complete play center. This goal of creating a play place for the children, got me thinking– What are the goals that I have for my career, family, and really life all together? The administration at the care center had been planning, saving, and collaborating to be able to put this playground into place for over a year and it made me think about what I’m doing to both meet my goals, and to help others meet theirs. It’s interesting because Jono and I have actually been talking a lot lately about our goals. The repeated thought¬†has been, what are we doing to actually meet our goals? Are we taking the necessary steps? We recently made a …

Floral Maxi

There’s been a lot of anticipated change, both in my professional and personal life lately. Where¬†we want to live, what we hope for our careers, etc., etc. So yes, I’ve been a little anxious. Change is good, and we know that these transitions¬†are absolutely for the best. It’s so exciting, but also a little scary. I have big dreams and so does my husband and we both ultimately decided that we need to chase them. It’s now or never! So, with all of these shifts and transformations, I find myself running to catch up. I’m looking forward to a lot, but at the same time I can’t find the time for what is current. What I really need is a renovation of my schedule, but that’s a whole other story… Thankfully, nature has always calmed me down. There’s something about channeling my¬†inner zen that helps me to just breath. Inhale. Exhale. Take a look around. Realize that there’s is a whole world happening outside of your own. At least for me, it helps put things …

Mikarose + Talaria Flats

I like to spice up the ordinary. I would describe my style as classic with a bit of edge. That maybe sounds super lame (it probably does), but I don’t know how else to put it. I like to be a little edgy. I like to mix and match styles. You know, the good stuff. So, when I was introduced to this collaboration with Mikarose, I got super excited because one thing that I LOVE to do is infuse my style into basics. Yes, although this skirt is floral, I’m still considering it a basic. It’s a more or less neutral colored pencil skirt–you can do a lot with that. And a leather jacket? Basic. Gray turtleneck? Basic. I appreciate my wardrobe staples, that’s for sure. You’d think, dang if I put all of my basics tighter that has to be a pretty boring outfit, but no! That’s not true at all! Having basics, or staples that you love in your wardrobe can create all kinds of outfits that not only you will love, but …

Floral Booties

Let’s talk floral. A, it’s fabulous. B, I want everything floral. And yep, that pretty much sums it up. So, floral booties that are waterproof in the dreary winter when I live in cold, snowy Utah? You can count me in. These Elliott Lucca boots do not disappoint. Not only are they super cute and trendy, but they are furry on the inside! It’s like stepping into a pillow (a.k.a. heaven). You can even get pumps, flats, and a purse all in the same gorgeous botanical floral. I’m pining after the heels myself… And, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect leopard clutch (although I’ve owned a few) this is THE one. Like, THE one. The one that I will vow to hold forever because it’s just that good. I’ve never been a “big spenda” when it comes to a clutch, but this one is totally worth it. Plus, it’s not really even a splurge because it’s under $80, so hellooo it’s a no brainer. Aside from the multiple packages that have been stolen …
