Gimme All The Plaid

It’s impossible for me to leave the house without wearing a big, warm coat these days. My hands are always ice– Like, so freaking cold… My feet are too. Shoes and heavy socks don’t do much for me. I even keep a blanket at my desk at work because burr. FREEZING COLD. Even though the sun shines from time to time, walking outside is pretty miserable. I sometimes think it doesn’t look so bad, and then I have to run to my car from the front door of my work building and the whole time I think it may really be the end… This is what hell feels like– Bitter cold. Call me dramatic but daaaang. I always forget how hard the winters are here.  That my friends is why if you see me, you best believe I’ll be bundled up. You can find this fab coat (it’s mega comfy and almost sold out, so hurry!) at Maude Boutique annnd it’s on super sale!! These booties (also on sale) and my cutesy cactus earrings are also …

Christmas Is Coming!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! And can you believe it’s in 17 days?! We’re almost (ALMOST) done decorating and I’m pretty stoked about it. We were a little behind this year… I love having a festive home though– Gives me all of the feel goods! The one thing that I’ve had a hard time finding is stocking hangers that I like. None of the ones that I’ve seen are bad necessarily, I’m just not in love with any of them. Any ideas? At this point, I know that I probably won’t find any that I love, but I’ll take suggestions!   It’s insanely cold outside– So that’s a thing. It’s that time of year when running to your car is the only option. Walking is just too miserable. And then there’s the whole, waiting for the car to heat up while you violently shiver thing. Oh what fun (not)! This week has been pretty normal though. Just prepping for the holidays and freezing ALL OF THE TIME. Have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm 😉 …

Perfectly Plaid

This heat is ridiculous. It’s been unbearably hot lately and I’m pretty over it… It’s hard to find cute things to wear when it’s this hot. Everything just feels… too thick, too tight, too much fabric. Getting dressed is miserable because by the time I get my outfit put together I’m so sweaty you’d think that I just ran a marathon– Gross. Crank up the AC! That my friends is why I am loving light, flowy dresses lately. This one from Copper Theory is perfect because it’s super lightweight and a bit oversized so it doesn’t stick to you in the heat (hooray!). There’s nothing worse than have your sweaty clothes stick to you when you’re outside– No thanks! You can actually enjoy a breeze in this dress, it’s wonderful. In other news, we finally moved in to our new home! I AM SO EXCITED! It doesn’t even seem real… I can’t believe we finally bought a house! We’re still half way living out of boxes– It’s kind of a mess… BUT it’s coming together …

Sweater Weather

Oh, Vegas how fabulously warm you are. It was so nice to actually feel the sun for a change. It’s been way too long since I’ve been able to walk around in a t-shirt. Plus, with all of the hustle and bustle of the convention, I definitely got my exercise, which I totally need to do more often. But, that’s a whole other topic… Yes, Vegas was great and sunny, but now it’s back to sweater weather here in Utah. Although I am SO ready for spring, I can handle it being cold for a bit longer only because I get to enjoy layering up. If you’re like me, you feel like layering basically saves your life when you step outside because you feel as if the cold air might actually stop your heart this time. Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but honestly, it’s so cold! Cozy cardigans save me and I love a layered look, so there’s that too. Sadly, this comfy plaid cardigan is all sold out, but Paige Avenue (such a cute little shop) …

Flats & Fur

Ballerina Flats, who doesn’t love them? They are so easily styled and so very comfy. And I am in LOVE with my champagne flats from Talaria Flats. They add a little “oomph” to my outfit with their gold and blush sparkle. No joke, when I put them on, I don’t really want to take them off… So, if you’re on the hunt for some great ballerina flats, let me tell you, these are fab-u-lous. I would definitely recommend sizing up though (they run way small). I usually wear a 7.5 or 8, but I got a 9 and they are perfect. I’ve also teamed up with Cents of Style for this post. Their adorable fur vest is sold out (insert sad face emoji here), but I am loving their leopard beanie and their speckled beanie (I have both). You can see how I styled them here & here. Anyway, I hope that you all had an amazing holiday! I have some fantastic things in the works for 2016 (whoop, whoop)!   Shop my look: flats | jumpsuit | vest …

Mad For Plaid

I’m addicted. I can’t get enough plaid! It just encompasses the spirit of the season, you know? I love a good ol’ plaid button up–always. But I am really diggin’ plaid patterns on other pieces too these days. Pants, skirts, dresses, blouses, cardigans–I love it all! Really, I feel like I could live in plaid. I could wear it from head to toe and be completely content. It makes me feel so festive! And since we are headed into such a festive season, I’ve added a few more essential plaid pieces to my wardrobe. Number one, a plaid blouse, and number two, a plaid cardigan, both from Viva La Jewels. These new favorites are just the beginning of my plaid overload. I have big plans for a festive wardrobe this season… You just wait. I have WAY more plaid coming at you. Shop my look: Plaid Blouse, Plaid Cardigan, Jeans, Booties, Wedges (similar), Bracelets

All Plaid Is Not Created Equal

I’m picky–I always have been and I probably always will be. Not when it comes to food necessarily, or say, what Netflix show my husband and I watch, but I am picky about my clothes. There’s nothing worse than buying clothing online, anxiously awaiting their arrival on your doorstep, tearing open the package when it comes (like an overexcited maniac), only to find that you despise what’s inside. It doesn’t look the same as the online image. It doesn’t fit how you had imagined. The color isn’t right, etc. On the opposite end of the spectrum, it is the best feeling when you ferociously rip open your neatly packaged parcel to find that what’s inside is even better than you had dreamed. I recently experienced the second of these two scenarios. Thank the heavens for Pink Desert. Let me back up a bit. Obvious to anyone observant, plaid is everywhere this season. I have nothing against it, I love plaid, but let’s face it–not all plaid is created equal. I hate when I fall in …
