Pop of Red

I’m not usually a person that is drawn to red– I never wear it. Maroons and deep burgundy I can get away with, but bright red tends to not look so hot with my skin tone. A pop of red however, now I can do that! I’m a fan of having a bright pop of color. I like my neutrals, but some sort of pop can add needed pizazz. It’s nice to have a colored purse to switch out when I get sick of my usual one. I found this baby at¬†Urban Expressions! It’s a nice change– I like the shape ūüôā Life right now is basically recovering from the holidays. It’s like we need a vacation from the vacation– It’s exhausting! Unfortunately Jono had a sick day today (fever and a headache). I hate when he’s sick. It’s such a¬†bummer! True story– We have this massive tall-tee like hoodie that we call “the sick hoodie”, ha. I’m not sure how it started, but we both wear it when we’re sick. It’s soooo cozy. …

Casual Layering with Brickyard Buffalo

Because of the intense heat that’s going on, I have a hard time wearing jeans lately… You just can’t catch a breeze! I’ve been wearing a lot of skirts and dresses because at least my legs can feel the cool air (if there is any). I’ve found some fantastic options at Brickyard Buffalo to layer and accessorize¬†for a casual look. Like this¬†maxi dress!¬†I’ve layered it with an oversized hoodie for the evening (just in case it gets a little cooler at night). The dress pairs perfectly with a pair of your favorite sneakers and it even has pockets! It’s available NOW at Brickyard for under $25, but only until Friday! And then there’s this skirt (heart eyes). Not only is it under $20 (woohoo), but it’s incredibly comfortable and suuuper stretchy. I love the basic grid pattern– It makes it super easy to style. I’ve dressed it down here with some denim on denim and sneakers for an easy, everyday look. It just barely released on¬†Brickyard Buffalo¬†yesterday, so head on over and snag one before …

Sneaker Crazed

Sneakers. Everyone has their favorites. Lace up, high top, you name it. There seems to be more variety in sneakers today (and the ways that they’re styled) than any other time that I can remember.¬†For me, slip ons with a twist are a summer fave. Summers are always busy. You’re working, you’re hanging with friends, you’re out and about by the pool. So, a simple slip on shoe is a NECESSITY. And honestly, sometimes sandals just don’t cut it. Sometimes you want something else. Sometimes your toes aren’t painted and you need to hide them. Anyone else…? These tassel sneakers from J/Slides are kinda saving my life lately. They are a little more sophisticated than a sandal which is perfect for my summer vibes. If you’re on the hunt for some slip on sneaks, these are a great option. They’re my second pair from¬†J/Slides and I have not been disappointed! xoxo, Karlee Shop my look: sneakers | skirt (similar here & here) | tee | vest | clutch | watch

Suede Sneakers

Say hello to summer suede! Although it¬†isn’t typically a summer fabric, I’m seeing it squeeze its way in more and more. I for one like the trend, especially when it comes to suede sneakers. Honestly, it’s only been the last few years that I’ve turned into some sort of sneaker fanatic. My hubby on the other hand has always been sneaker crazed… But, I’ve come to love and adore sneakers and I wear them much more often than in the past. Today’s selection offers a lot more versatility in design¬†and ways to style. True story– Several times when my husband and I were dating, he’d show up at my apartment to take me out and we’d be wearing basically the same outfit. I remember one time specifically, he arrived¬†in a navy¬†and white gingham button down with khaki shorts only to find that I was also wearing a navy and white gingham button down with khaki shorts… Needless to say I had to change my clothes a few times before we went out. In this look, …

Snakeskin Meets Sneakers

I’m all about the the hightop sneakers¬†these days. You name it, I’ll take it–hightop Converse, hightop Toms, and especially, hightop J Slides. These particular tan faux snakeskin covered magnificent hugs for my feet have come from a nicely packaged box on my doorstep and straight into my heart. I’ve been genuinely surprised with their high level of comfort too. Being a pointed toe and all, I thought that my toes might feel mega squished (you know, no breathing room), but they surprisingly don’t feel claustrophobic at all. They are as comfy as can be. I would definitely go at least a half size up though, they run a tad small. Now, I am excited to tell you the best part… They are¬†50% off right now! You¬†really can’t beat that, ever. My newfound shoe love has me¬†obsessed! They pair perfectly with joggers (yes these are the same joggers from my last post, but they’re just THAT good) for an easy as pie athleisure look. Let’s face it, athleisure is basically all anyone wears nowadays anyway. P.S. …

Slip-On Sneaks

Hello from snowy Utah! It’s been snowing here off and on (I can’t keep up), but at least the mountains look gorgeous! I can’t help but stare when I’m driving… Despite the cold, I have been dying over slip-on sneakers lately. I have been on the hunt for some good ones and¬†I have finally found them! They are super comfy and I LOVE the different textures of leather and scalloped edges.¬†Klub Nico¬†has won me over with these babies. So, if you’re like me and have been looking for some good ol’ slip-ons, you will not be disappointed with these!
