Retro Revival

It’s so interesting to me to see how different styles come in and out and then back in again. There’s a lot of retro styles coming back right now and for the most part, I’m all about it. Some styles are a little too much for me… I see high school kids nowadays that look like they just popped out of a Saved By The Bell set, but hey, we all wore funky stuff in our teens! I do however love some good ol’ Converse and it seems like everybody’s wearing them. I feel like there’s a broader age range if appropriateness when it’s comes to classic Chuck Taylors. Teenagers and adults alike can get away with it. My husband and I snagged both of these pairs from Famous Footwear (use code POOLSIDE for 15% off)! Some other retro trends that I’m diggin: Ascot Scarves: They are so feminine and so classy. I love the ways that they’re being styled right now. High Waisted Jeans: I’m pretty much all about the high waisted jeans these …

Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale Picks

Whenever Nordstrom has a sale, it’s seriously like crack… Online shopping is my fave. There’s just something wonderful about clicking that “add to cart” button. Nordstrom is one of my favorite places to shop, but I’m ballin’ on a budget here, sooo… This girl is all for a deal! They have a few amazing sales every year and this is one of them. I’ve filtered through and found three fabulous spring/summer outfits for amazing prices. I hope that you enjoy my picks! They have tons of stuff for up to 40% off, so head on over before all these gems are gone! xoxo, Karlee Shop: dress | bag | heels | necklace Shop: leggings | tank | sneakers | backpack  Shop: dress | bag | heels | watch

Summer Sandal Style: Cocobelle

If there was an award for most beautiful shoe box, Cocobelle would win– For sure! Like, seriously? When my package arrived on my doorstep and I ripped it open (it’s like Christmas every time), I was like whoa, what’s this? My first thought was, I think this box is meant for a princess… Honestly, that’s how I feel. I’m not Jasmine and I don’t have an awesome pet tiger, but I’ll take your fabulous shoes. Cocobelle’s sandals are super comfy and way easy to style! Anywho, if you’re looking to splurge for a simple sandal, they have some good options. Also, we’ll be looking at more houses tomorrow and I am DYING (of excitement and kind of nervousness…). I’m so ready to call somewhere home. Send me all the good home buying vibes people! xoxo, Karlee Shop my look: sandals | jeans (similar here & here)

Question: What’s Your Personal Style?

I’ve been asked a lot lately about what my personal style is and well, it’s kind of hard to say. I wear what I like! I don’t necessarily identify with one style of clothing. I’m sort of a hippie, I like to be a little edgy, on trend and classic all at the same time. So, maybe I’m a mix of it all? I’ve kind of always been that way. I hated debate class. I couldn’t choose just one side. Not because I’m indecisive (I am but that’s a whole other problem). It’s because I could see all sides of the story. I could identify with different thought processes and ideas. And I think that way of thinking sort of carries itself into my personal style. One area in which I’ve been focusing a lot of energy on is my shoe style. How to wear the same shoes in different ways, how to branch out and wear shoes that I wouldn’t at first glance know how to style, etc., etc. Because of this, I’ll be doing …

10 Beach Bag Must-Haves

If it’s in my daily routine, I’m pretty good about remembering things, but when I’m going on a trip, or really anywhere that’s not in my normal day to day grind, I’m sort of the queen of forgetting. I’m very much a creature of habit. And when I go places out of the ordinary I can get a little frazzled…  So, for my summer adventures, I’ve decide to make a killer list of must-haves so that I can be a little more prepared. Hopefully it’ll help my busy mind stay on top of things. Whether you’re going to the beach, or the pool, here are your fab bag must-haves: A good book and/or notebook + pen: Sometimes you want to live it up at the beach and sometimes you just want to relax. The trouble is, you may not know until you get there. So, it’s never a bad idea to pack a notebook (I have LOTS of thoughts) or a good book. Portable phone battery: There’s nothing worse than having your trusty ol’ cell …

Chambray & Stripes (Always Stripes)

We looked at another house this week… Not exactly what we want, but we’re definitely getting closer. It restored my faith in our otherwise grim house hunt. I’m just ready to find a house to make a home! Some other things that happened this week: We went and saw the Avengers Civil War movie. We reeeally loved it. But, we’re kinda nerds though, so… No surprise there. I FINALLY got a Snapchat, woohoo! I’ve been anti for a while, but I finally caved. So, come follow along!  (I promise I’ll put a photo eventually, I just don’t feel like taking a selfie right now)   I discovered a new place to eat. Imagine grilled veggie sandwhiches and bacon pear salads. YUM. I probably have an abnormal love for great food, so I’m a pretty happy camper. About the outfit– I’m squeezing any cold/breeze in to utilize my black leather jacket for the last time this season. It’s a wardrobe staple and a definite favorite, so I’ve been wearing it a lot lately. Don’t get me wrong, I …

Palm Leaves & Stilettos

IT’S GETTING WARM OUTSIDE AND I DON’T HAVE TO WEAR A JACKET ANY MORE!!! Sorry, maybe that was a bit dramatic, buuut I just love it when the sun shines! I’m freezing cold, seriously shivering, for 6 months out of the year, so when the sun finally shows itself, it is VERY exciting. I’ve been blabbing about it like a lunatic hoping for the sun to shine and everyone is probably over it by now, but I just can’t contain my excitement! And when the warm weather comes, it kinda also means… Patterns. PATTERNS, yes! To be completely honest, I wear patterns all year like it’s going out of style, but spring/summer is my favorite because the patterns become so bright! When summer comes along I want to pretend like I’m not landlocked in Utah, so tropical patterns help me do that. Maybe it’s just feeding my delusions of tropical vacations, but hey, whatever works, right? I also love to dress down pieces that may, at first look, seem a little more fancy. Yes, I’m …

The Nerd Life

I arrived home early this morning from Create and Cultivate exhausted, but excited. Waking up at 3:00 am to catch a flight home is not my very favorite thing, but I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to go. I’m feeling VERY inspired, people. I’ll try and condense/organize all of my thoughts into a post later this week. Now, about the outfit. I’m kind of (and by kind of I mean totally) a nerd if you haven’t already figured that out. And I appreciate a good graphic sweatshirt, so yes, R2D2 goes everywhere with me now… I loved the new Star Wars movie and I’m looking forward to the Marvel Civil War film that I no doubt will make time to see this week. I’m also totally diggin’ that moto, quilted pant situation that’s happening. In addition to these quilted jeans from J.A.G. Co, I have some sweatsand joggers with a similar knee pattern. I’m very much a fan. It adds just a bit more detail if you’re looking for some pants with …

Watermelons, Strawberries, and Grapes, Oh My!

This evening my hunky husband and I maaay or may not have shared a duet with a pretend, imaginary microphone in the car… Then we saw the kind lady next to us smirking and yes, staring. But did we stop? No, because Aerosmith deserves 100% of your attention. At all times. Anyway, about the outfit– It emulates my favorite thing about summer. And what’s my favorite thing about summer? Fruit. Always the fruit. Juicy strawberries and pineapples? Yumo. So yeah, show me a fruit skirt and I’m gonna freak out! Of happiness of course. Oh, and ice cream. Who can pass up a classic vanilla cone? Hope your Thursday has been fabulous! Xoxo, Karlee skirt | tee | readers | sandals | braclet(s)

Palms Trees & Bouquets

I love this season for the flowers. They are absolutely breathtaking! My husband and I attended the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point for the first time this weekend and I am so glad that we went. Words can’t even describe how beautiful it was. Over 250,ooo tulip bulbs were blooming, all different colors and species. It was magnificent! So, if you’re ever in the area, I’d highly recommend it. Let’s talk about this outfit for a minute. I LOVE this dress from Mindy Mae’s Market, it’s perfect– So easy to style! I can already tell that it’s going to be a summer go-to. They have a ton of great options for summer which just released TODAY!!! I’ll be blogging about a few more of my favorite styles throughout the month, so stay tuned! xoxo, Karlee Shop my look: dress | jacket (similar here & here) | necklace | bracelet(s) | sandals
