Polka Dots & Stripes

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m a pattern mixing gal. I’ve been going a little more neutral lately, (I’m loving my plain tees) but I always love a little mixing and matching. A few tips for pattern mixing: Style neutrals with a pop of color. I chose red, a bit bold yes, for this look’s color pop. But it’s fun to choose one bold color! Use one common color that ties the two patterns together. In this look I used white/cream from the polka dots on my top and stripes on the skirt. Style the same pop of color in accessories (like these fab red shoes). And that’s it! I hope that you have fun pattern mixing this summer! In other news, we found out this afternoon that our closing date for our new home has been postponed (tear). So send me all of the good vibes ladies! We’re hoping for early next week. I have the home’s entire decor all planned out in my head, we’ll see how it all turns …

Striped Espadrilles

Confession: These are my third pair of espadrilles this season… Obviously I can’t get enough! I own a pair of suede sandal espadrilles that I wear way too often, a super cute denim wedge pair, and now these striped sneaker gems. I love them, they send all of the island vibes! And come on, who doesn’t need for island vibes? If you haven’t jumped on the espadrille train yet, you need to. Why? Well here is my reasoning (it’s foolproof). You can get them in basically any style. Sandals, wedges, sneakers, all of the above. They’re super comfy. Just step right into heaven ladies. Versatility. They are way easy to style. Because they come in so many shapes and sizes, there are probably few outfits that you couldn’t wear them with! These babies from Mindy Mae’s Market are under $40 and they are fabulous. Seriously, it’s like giving your feet a hug. xoxo, Karlee Shop my look: espadrilles | tee | jeans | necklace | sunglasses

Mustard Maxi Skirt

I’ve never really been a fan of those stretchy, tight maxi skirts. They cling to me in all of the wrong places. You know what I mean? But I do love a maxi skirt. (I’m really bad at shaving me legs). I like this new kind of maxi. Well, it’s new to me any way. The boho, hippie trend has brought them to the front of the fashion scene and this hairy legged lady loves it! Less clingy more flowy– That’s all I’ve ever needed. Make me look like a flower child hippie– That’s what I want. I really feel like this shape of maxi skirt is so much more flattering and I like the aesthetic a lot better as well. I can also get behind a comfy graphic graphic tee like this one from Rad. Use code madam20 for an EXTRA (yes, extra) 20% off of your purchase from Rad. They are having a massive sale right now and with this code you can get tees for about $10. It’s fabulous! They have some pretty rad stuff if …

5 Ways To Style A Dull Outfit For Summer

Plain Jane? No way. Ain’t nobody got time for that. I’ve compiled a list of 5 tips on how to style the heck out of a dull outfit this season. -Add a belt. I’m obsessed with a western belt. The silver detail does it for me. But if you need a pattern for your look you can add a leopard belt or a pastel belt for a subtle pop of color. -Style some sunnies. I’m really into round glasses. Trust me, you’ll be a fan of the retro vibe. -Invest in some clogs. They are super trendy right now (I love it!). I swear everywhere I look I see a new version of a clog. They’re a summer must. -Try an ascot scarf. Dubbed the summer scarf, its’ another very on trend accessory. I’d suggest snagging a few different colors so that you can have a variety of styling options. Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters have some good options at a reasonable price. -Coordinate the color of your accessories with one or two items to offset. It helps to …
