Pop of Red

I’m not usually a person that is drawn to red– I never wear it. Maroons and deep burgundy I can get away with, but bright red tends to not look so hot with my skin tone. A pop of red however, now I can do that! I’m a fan of having a bright pop of color. I like my neutrals, but some sort of pop can add needed pizazz. It’s nice to have a colored purse to switch out when I get sick of my usual one. I found this baby at Urban Expressions! It’s a nice change– I like the shape 🙂 Life right now is basically recovering from the holidays. It’s like we need a vacation from the vacation– It’s exhausting! Unfortunately Jono had a sick day today (fever and a headache). I hate when he’s sick. It’s such a bummer! True story– We have this massive tall-tee like hoodie that we call “the sick hoodie”, ha. I’m not sure how it started, but we both wear it when we’re sick. It’s soooo cozy. …

The New Year (Almost)

Can you believe that it’s almost 2017?! I can’t. It seems pretty unreal… I’ve been doing a lot of reminiscing lately. When you’re making big life decisions, or at the start of a new year, it tends to happen. My husband and I were talking about our childhoods, what we liked, etc. and we both recalled enjoying the cartoon, The Jetsons. As we were talking, we both wondered what time period the cartoon was attempting to emulate. I was curious, so I looked it up– It’s 2062. Only 45 more years people! Then we’ll have flying cars 😉 It may not yet be 2062, but 2017 is creepin’ up reeeal fast. You hear all of the marketing slogans for 2017 right about now. New year, new you. It’s always the same. But, it did get me thinking… What will 2017 bring? Who will I be? What will I do? What will I accomplish? Luckily, I don’t have to answer all of those questions today, ha. For right now, I can just bask in the Nordstrom …

The Busy Season

Sometimes I feel like all I do is work. I wake up in the morning and go to work. I get home, I work some more. Relaxing time, or even TV time is rare these days. If Jono and I maybe get to watch some Netflix, we are off to bed immediately after. My life is errand after errand after errand. I know it’s bad when my eyes start to burn and my vision goes fuzzy, my head pounds… Yep, it’s the busy season. The holiday season always seems to be a whirlwind. When New Years rolls around I’m always left thinking, where on Earth did December go? One busy Saturday after listening to me complain about my exhaustion and about all of the things that we had to tend to in December, Jono said plainly, “December is always the month from hell”. HA! Being busy is good, I like being busy. BUT what I wouldn’t give to rid myself of my workaholic ways and sleep for like 3 days straight. Wonderful. Wonderful is what it would be. Anybody feel …

Christmas Is Coming!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! And can you believe it’s in 17 days?! We’re almost (ALMOST) done decorating and I’m pretty stoked about it. We were a little behind this year… I love having a festive home though– Gives me all of the feel goods! The one thing that I’ve had a hard time finding is stocking hangers that I like. None of the ones that I’ve seen are bad necessarily, I’m just not in love with any of them. Any ideas? At this point, I know that I probably won’t find any that I love, but I’ll take suggestions!   It’s insanely cold outside– So that’s a thing. It’s that time of year when running to your car is the only option. Walking is just too miserable. And then there’s the whole, waiting for the car to heat up while you violently shiver thing. Oh what fun (not)! This week has been pretty normal though. Just prepping for the holidays and freezing ALL OF THE TIME. Have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm 😉 …

Loafer Love

We’ve been online shopping like maniacs lately. Ever since the Black Friday/Cyber Monday craze, we’ve been clicking add to cart nonstop.’Tis the season! Before we bought our new home, our Christmas decorations consisted of one nutcracker, a polar bear, and a two foot tree (with decorations of course). I’m pretty sure I’ve purchased Target’s entire online Christmas collection… I’m only barely exaggerating! So, needless to say, we have a massive stack of empty boxes at this point– It’s pretty getting ridiculous. We were in Oregon this Thanksgiving with my family, so if we wanted to make a purchase, it needed to be online. I pack too heavy to leave room in my suitcase to haul anything home! How’s your holiday decorating going? Been Pinteresting like crazy? Yeah, me too! About the outfit– It’s loafer love people! As you know, I always love mixing and matching! Right now I’m really in to pairing pieces that are a little more professional, like these snakeskin loafers, with an item more casual, like these distressed knee skinnies. It makes for …
