3 Easy Ways to Stay Motivated

Confession time– I get hangry (angry-hungry). There’s really no better way to describe it… I get discouraged, exhausted, etc., but the one thing that I don’t do is quit (although at times it may be tempting).

We all have the struggles of the daily grind, each experience unique. Although we may all have different battles to conquer, I believe there are at least a few constants. So, here’s my most simple advice on how to stay energized and motivated throughout your day:

Walk around. If you have a job where you’re at a desk for a long time, get up and move. Stretch, take a stroll, whatever you need to do to get your blood flowing. Don’t let that bum get numb 😉

Build relationships. Talk to your coworkers and get to know them! Help each other, build each other up. You can’t #girlboss alone!

And for crying out loud, eat! It’s amazing to me how many people forget to eat throughout the day. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been guilty of that, but I try not to make it a habit. And breakfast! Oh my goodness, please eat breakfast! I don’t want to sound like a commercial here, but it honestly kick starts your day! And have a snack. There’s no shame in it!

Here’s the thing, because I’m often working and running around, (weekends included) it’s really easy to forget to eat, hence my inclination to be hangry. Maybe a photo shoot went long, or I don’t have time to grab a full meal before my next errand. I try not to let that happen very often, but when it does happen, you best believe I have a snack with me. I’m also hypoglycemic, so I always have to make sure that I have something on hand that’s number one, easy to eat and number two, yummy.

My fave these days is a Kellogg’s ® Special K Bar ® (my favorite is the Chocolate Almond). They have a lot more substance to them than a lot of other granola bars, which is a necessity for me. I can’t handle the dinky little bars, they do nothing for me! The Kellogg’s ones are actually really tasty and surprisingly hearty. I’m not sure where you like to shop, but in Utah, Smith’s has a nice selection– They’ve got the goods!

So, whether you’re like me and you’re a workaholic, or maybe you have kids, or other responsibilities, fall always seems to be a busy season for everyone. I firmly believe that as women, we need to take the time to nourish our bodies and fuel up for what we want to accomplish. That includes getting our bodies moving, having meaningful human interaction and yes, eating. Those all seem like really obvious things to have as part of your day, but I think that somehow the most obvious things can be the easiest to forget.

Nourish your inner #girlboss and tackle your day! Don’t get hangry, get productive. Get confident and do things that are meaningful and worthwhile to you.

I hope that you’ve had a great weekend! Have a wonderful Monday tomorrow. You’re going to kill it girl!

    Three VERY important things. I work from home so it’s even more important to walk around, build relationships with my online colleagues and eat! I would not be happy otherwise for sure. {client}
