How to Create a Cozy Space with Your Fall Decor

Pumpkin spice & everything nice– ‘Tis the season, ya’ll! Get ready for all things cinnamon & nutmeg and the worship of pumpkins. You know you love it (I definitely do)! One of my favorite parts of this season is getting to host my friends and family. It’s a time to celebrate with your favorite peeps and a big part of that for me is having a prepped and ready home. To me, that means all of the cozy, warm vibes. I want my home to feel festive, but also inviting. Nothing too over the top. That’s why I am LOVING Walmart’s selection of fall harvest decor. Definitely a lot of modern farmhouse inspo which I DIG.

Here are a few of my favorite things about decorating for fall, and a few tips to keep your space looking its best:

The palette. Who doesn’t love gushing over fall colors? I’m all about it. The greens, the oranges, the maroons… SO good. It can be hard not to buy every beautiful burnt orange piece that I see, but those moody hues shine their brightest when used in moderation. By only picking your favorite moody pieces to compliment your space, you’ll find that everything will flow much easier rather than if you purchase everything in orange, hehe.

The patterns. Complimenting neutral patterns with pops of a fall harvest palette is the way to go. Fall plaids, stripes, and florals are some of my absolute favorites of the year, but I have to be careful not to go too overboard. You feel me? Using neutral shaded patterns will allow you to mix more patterns while still keeping things subtle. I mixed two different plaids and a stripe pattern, but since they aren’t super bold, they still blend quite well. Plus, you can use things like solid blankets and pillows with varying textures to break up your patterns while simultaneously making your space look more cohesive.

The textures. I could talk textures all day. I love mixing leather, corduroy, and varying linens, not to mention the fun textures that a cool mirror or pumpkins can bring. Using different textures will give your space dimension and help it to look more dynamic. Play around with different textures to find what looks best. You may need to rearrange things a few times to find the right balance. I know I do!

I just have to say, I’ve been so impressed with Walmart’s selection for fall decor and at such great prices. They are honestly making creating a Pinterest-worthy space attainable! They even have curated pages of seasonal decor that make online shopping so much easier. You can check out this page of fall decor for some major inspo! Walmart.com also offers free shipping on order $35+ and a free shop online, pick up in store today option which is sooo nice. I’ve used the latter several times myself!
