Jo’s New Playroom Reveal

YOU GUYS! I have been so freaking stoked to share this new playroom with you. Liiiike I’ve been on cloud nine about it. So here’s the thing– I wanted a space that was just for Jo. A space where she could roam around and do whatever she wanted without any “no-no’s” or “uh-oh’s” or my personal favorite, “we don’t touch that”.

Up until now all of her toys were taking up our family room which was not awesome. Every evening we’d clean them up and then every morning it’d look like a tornado came through to disperse princess dolls, blocks, and puzzle pieces all over the place. It didn’t take long for that to get old.

We needed a solution. And fast. I came up with the idea to transform my office bump-out into a little playroom for her. It’s kind of perfect because she can play while I work. Although she only plays by herself for like 10 minutes at a time, ha! It does work nice because I can go back and forth from playing with her to sending of a few emails, etc.

I wanted to do muted girly colors so the room would feel a bit more calm. We ended up painting the walls white and went pretty mellow with everything else. I absolutely love the way it turned out!

When I thought of putting together a playroom, Pottery Barn Kids was the first place that popped into my head, so I was beyond excited to partner with them for this project. They have the BEST stuff!

I knew that I wanted to get her one of their play kitchens (which I’m totally jealous of) because it’s something that she can definitely grow into and use for years to come. A toy box was a must because ummm we needed something to hold all of the things that used to call the floor of our living room home, and a bookshelf because maaan that kid LOVES books. We also got an adorable rug from PBK along with curtains + hardware (I’m a fan of the gold!), a cute star basket, & a little unicorn doll that she is obsessed with.

Other things… I die over the world map wall sticker that we put up. It shows all of the different continents & oceans, plus animals that live in different regions of the world. I looked at about a million of them online and decided to go with this one because I felt like it was by far the cutest.

The pink wire wall shelves are such a cute touch for a bit of extra storage. They’re sold out, but I’ve linked a similar option below. And I just HAD to get her a chair. I mean, come on. The kid loves to look at books so I felt like she NEEDED one. Jono really dislikes when I say “need”. He tries to convince that what I’m trying to say is “want”. I’ll stick with “need” for now hehe.

Anyway, hopefully this can give you a little inspo for your kiddos playroom! I had so much fun putting it together!

xoxo,

Karlee
