Stripes For Days

Stripes For Days

It’s compelling to me how our fashion choices reflect our personalities. Personally, I’ve always been a print gal. I love bright florals, geometric patterns, and I love stripes. I guess it’s the creative side of me. I love seeing how colors and shapes flow together and compliment each other. Often times I find it difficult to pick out an outfit for the day because I have so many patterns and not enough basics. I guess I’m lucky that mixing patterns is trendy right now, because I have a closet full of them! I love stripes because they look classy. They are simple, but elegant. For a pattern obsessed girl, stripes are my sweet spot because they aren’t too busy.
As I look back on how my style has changed over the years, I catch myself reminiscing on times when I was just a kid with my trusty navy blue Abercrombie sweatshirt. It’s sort of hilarious. We all have those times in our lives when we look back at our fashion choices and cringe a little. Hopefully when I look back at my early twenties, I don’t recoil in fear from my fashion decisions. Unfortunately, I haven’t found such luck looking back on my high school days (ah frilly Hollister tanks).
Personally, I have to get excited about my outfits–it needs to be something that I feel confident in. And for some reason, patterns tend to do that for me. I’ve been trying to gather more basic and solid color pieces for my wardrobe so that I can actually find things that match, but I can’t help but be drawn to patterns! Hopefully I will be able to continue to find creative ways to mix and match patterns without looking like a clown.

Thanks so much Heidi! If they still have them, you can purchase my shirt at Called To Surf, or at Hope Ave. I’m not wearing a watch in any of these photos, you are probably seeing my leather Marc Jacobs bracelet. I bought mine at Nordstrom Rack a while back, they might still have them!
