3 NYFW Looks

I haven’t gotten around to posting all of the details on the three remaining NYFW looks that I was able to shoot, so here they are! Studded Sneaks Studded boots, studded bags, studded sneakers… I dig the studded trend. I scored these babies from J/Slides and I’m pretty stoked about it. These are my third pair of shoes from them and they don’t disappoint! The quality has always been fantastic, and as you know, I’m kind of a shoe snob… To start, they are super comfy! And I love the higher sole. Not quite a platform, but the shoe does have some height which I like. I’ve paired them here with this dusty pink top and this floral jacquard coat that I am absolutely obsessed with.    Duster Vest I’m a sucker for a duster vest… I just am! I wanna buy like 100 this season! I feel like they add a level of sophistication that somehow only they can accomplish. I don’t know if that really makes sense or not, but I just dig …

NYFW Shows + Velvet Maternity Look

Okay sooo I just wanted to highlight some of my fave shows from NYFW. You’ll definitely want to check out these brands! Let’s jump right in 😉 Galtiscopio I think that Galtiscopio will always have a special place in my heart because it was my very first NYFW show. And it was AWESOME. So much glitz and glam. The pieces were stunning. It was a super high energy show right off the bat and they even had entrainment! The pieces were stunning and I was super impressed. I’ll definitely want to attend the next Galtiscopio show! Katie Gallagher This wasn’t your traditional runway show. The models stood and sometimes rotated showing off the collection. It was a cool show, beautiful pieces. The only downside was that you were standing in a mob of people so it was kind of hard to see. Cindy Monteiro This designer was only 26 and freaking adorable. Her line was more of a resort line with a lot of light, natural colors and burlap. It reminded me of some sort …

The Learning Curve

In college, as an education major, my professors instilled in us the idea of being a life long learner. Be willing to adapt, willing to mold, and willing take on challenges. In education, this seems obvious, but I apply that concept, or I at least try to, in all aspects of life.  Because I am undergoing a new position at work (which I’m suuuper stoked about), I’ve been thinking a lot about the concept of becoming a life long learner. I’m learning SO many new things– Fascinating new concepts and ideas that up until this point I haven’t been familiar with, and I’m also able to apply knowledge that I’ve attained from other jobs that I’ve held or experiences that I’ve had. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It not only pushes me to be creative and innovative, but it’s also extremely rewarding. Making progress in something, whether it be school, work, home life, is so gratifying to me and helps me find a purpose.  I know this post is short, but I just wanted to …

Back in Black

I’m a fan of whole black on black thang. It makes it so easy to incorporate other trends into your look and make them stand out. Here’s the thing about a monochromic look— You can make some killer kicks the focal point of your entire outfit. Yeah, baby! Shoe lovers over heeeeere! Suede booties are always fantastic, but these oxblood western style ones are super on trend for fall (I’m obsessed). I cradle these babies and tuck them in at night because they are just that good! Or, you might add some velvet kicks to your monochromic look, or some embroidered ones… OH! Or boots with some fab buckles! The possibilities are endless… Either way, with a black palette, you can feel comfortable wearing a pair of boots that may be a little more on the wilder side. Check out this post for the best boots to invest in for fall & winter. Although this look may appear well thought out, it is actually effortless to pull off. I literally have my hair in the same clip …

5 Reasons Leopard Flats are a Must-Have for Every Wardrobe

It’s been a real busy week! I’ve been working and running errands like crazy, I feel like I haven’t had a second to sit down and relax. Anybody feel me? It’s weeks such as these where you’ll find me in sneakers or flats only! My fave is definitely a leopard flat– It’s a must. If you don’t have some sort of rendition in your closet, you need to hop on this train, girl! And I’ll tell you why– 1. They never go out of style. A leopard print shoe is timeless. Sure, there will always be a “new style”, but when it comes to leopard, the constants are the same. A leopard flat now and a leopard flat in a few years probably won’t look much different. 2. You can wear them as a neutral. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again– Treat leopard print as a neutral! It can be combined with literally any color and looks good with a variety of different prints, so I always utilize that. 3. They are multi-season friendly. Leopard …

The Perfect White Purse

I remember the first real purse that I got– I was ecstatic. The feel of the leather, the stitching, even the smell. A quality bag can make all of the difference. There’s just something about the perfect purse that makes you feel good, fabulous even. It can complete an outfit in a way that no other accessory can. The right purse can make you feel invincible! Identifying the “perfect purse” often means identifying the right brand. Over the last year, Sorial has become one of my favorites! You can even find the brand at Nordstrom Rack and Bloomingdale’s! Trust me, they’re solid! Sorial is definitely worth checking out if you’re on the hunt for a new purse, handbag, crossbody, clutch, etc. The quality is awesome and the brand is super reasonably priced. You can see how I styled one of their adorable backpacks here. AND if you’re a shop, Sorial will be at Coterie at the Javits Center in NYC September 18th – 20th! If you’re attending as a shop, you need to stop by their booth! This white crossbody dream bag …

White Lace Dress

I’ve always loved lace. I’m not sure what it is, but there’s just something about wearing a lace dress that makes you feel like a princess. Don’t you think? When I was engaged and on the hunt for a wedding dress, I knew that I wanted mine to be white lace. It ended up being a mixture off gorgeous lace and fluffy tulle. Boy did I feel like royalty! Although this midi dress may not being a wedding gown, I still feel a tinge of excitement when I put it on. It makes me feel, well… pretty. And every girl deserves to feel beautiful! Perhaps it’s the femininity of lace, or it’s detailed quality, but either way I’m always in! And this BAG! OMG. I could just die over the embroidered leather. It’s such a perfect piece for this transition into fall too. This ornate lace dress + this intricate satchel bag— It’s a magical combo. I snagged em’ both from Dezzal. If you create an account on their site, you get 20% off on your first order 😉 …

Embroidered Tunic Heaven

This tunic though… I’m in embroidered tunic heaven, #hearteyes. If you read my posts, you’re probably getting sick of me obsessing over embroidered pieces lately. So, I’m sorry but I just can’t stop. Can’t stop, won’t stop. This Free People inspired embroidered tunic is no different– It’s love. AND it’s somehow both summery and appropriate for fall all at the same time. Magical I tell you… It also doesn’t hurt that the Free People version is over a $100 and this one is only $42. Kind of a no brainer, right?! If you can’t already tell, I’m a excited (maybe a little too excited). Side note– If you’re on the hunt for a comfy pair of jeans for fall, you need these. Yes, need. They are part of 7 For All Mankind’s b(air) denim collection and they’re fabulous. So soft, like unreasonably soft… I also featured them in my Blogiversary post. If you see me on the street there’s a very good chance that you’l see me reppin’ this look. Probably more often than I should. Until next time …

Happy Blogiversary

My very first post on Madam Andrews was actually published in July of last year… But I didn’t really get things going until August. So it may be a little belated, but I’m going to say it any way– Happy Blogiversary (to me)! There are SO many things that I’ve learned over the last year (too much to write), so I decided to just focus on a few. Let’s jump right in– Just keep swimming (going). Do as Dory does and keep on keepin’ on. I don’t know that I’ve met any fellow blogger that at one point or another, didn’t want to quit. There was a point where I wanted to quit at least once a week, but I didn’t– And I’m very glad that I didn’t. Blogging is hard for a lot of reasons… It takes SO much time and maybe even more energy. It’s exhausting, many times overwhelming, and can be difficult to maneuver. Goals are sometimes difficult to reach and it can feel like everyone else is having success but YOU. …
