How To Dress Up Your Hoodie

Athleisure, in all its forms, has entrenched itself into current fashion trends and it isn’t going anywhere soon. It has become a part of everyday women’s fashion, so embrace it! Work it girrrl. So yes, we love our hoodies and our leggings. We dote over sneakers and baseball hats have become our new BFF. Sooo what about dressing these pieces up? Can it be done? Of course it can! With an anything goes attitude, you’ll be dressing up your leisure clothes in no time. How? Well, here are the 4 steps to a killer look: 1. Add a sophisticated statement piece. For this look, I decided to go with a leopard clutch, but I could have easily paired the hoodie with a rad leather jacket for the same effect. 2. Dress your feet. Your shoes say it all! Pair your sweatshirt with some killer mules or even a pair of heels to add an extra touch of poise. 3. What’s on the bottom? I decided to go with some distressed skinnies and a western belt, but …

Loungewear In Town

Loungewear is my life right now. I can’t deny it. For Christmas I just asked for sweatshirts and for my birthday… Well, Jono got me leggings and sneakers– It’s exactly what I wanted!  The need for comfort has superseded all else… What else is new? HA!  I’ve pretty much decorated every inch of our house at this point… I’ll be posting more home oriented blog posts soon and I’m super stoked about. So stay tuned! This dress/tunic situation is sooo comfy. I think I might need to snag it in grey too! I’m trying to grow out my bangs right now (I think) so I’ve been wearing a lot of baseball hats, like this one. Plus, it works great for greasy hair days 😉 I really like geometric earrings lately, so I picked these up at Maude too.  Wishing you a wonderful and worry free President’s Day! These sneakers are on a President’s Day mega sale right now (hooray!). You can shop them (and the rest of my look) below! xoxo, Karlee     Thanks to Maude …

Sweater Weather– Always

Turtleneck sweaters are one of my staples right now– They’re just too comfy to pass up! Lauryn from Lauryncakes and I decided to sport our comfy sweaters together for a super easy, everyday look. You know that’s my jam 😉 I’ve literally worn this very outfit way too many times the last month #noshame. Turtleneck sweaters really seem to be everywhere right now. The more the merrier! If I could, I’d own one in every color. The oversized kind, which are my fave, are just so easy to throw on. And I love anything that I can easily pair with jeans and feel good about it. So, you want to stay warm this winter? Get yourself a turtleneck sweater– They are the beeeeest. I’ve linked some options below that I either own, or would like to own. And deets from mine and Lauryn’s looks!     Hope you had a great Monday! xoxo, Karlee

Sleek Design

So Jono and I finally went and signed up for a gym pass– It’s been a long time coming. Snow boarding this season has made me realize that my body doesn’t bounce back quite as quickly as it used to, ha. One of my 2017 goals is to get in shape, so wish me luck! They offer yoga and circuit training at my work as well… It’s a goal of time to take advantage of it! Let’s hope I can drag my butt out of bed and get there in the morning… On another note, I can’t believe it’s almost February! That means I’m almost 25… A quarter of a century! Jono totally thought that I was turning 24 and I was convinced that I was turning 26, ha. It’s hard for me to keep track now, I can’t imagine how it’ll be when I get older! About this look– This bag from Hieleven has been attached to my hip– Literally. It’s such a fun size and I love the sleek, modern design. It’s been a …

5 Denim Trends You Need To Know for 2017

It’s denim’s time to shine– There’s no denying that. The denim trends of 2016 are carrying over to the new year in fresh ways and I’m stoked about it. Although I’m a fan of almost every denim trend right now, I’ve joined forces with the lovely Lauryn from lauryncakes.com to show you the denim dress + overall trend in action. Personally, I love the layering aspect. There are so many different ways to style these denim pieces, but we went pretty casual with it. Our looks are both so easy to throw on for an everyday fashionista look (without a lot of effort) 😉 What about the other 4? You know the trends, we saw all kinds of distressed denim in 2016, no surprise there. Flares made a comeback and two toned denim made quite a splash as well. The embroidery trend has been one of my absolute faves and of course the denim dress/overall trend has also stolen my heart! So here they are, the fabulous 5: 1.Distressed denim– It’s probably safe to say that …

That Tunic Thing

My hubby and I have been binge watching the OC… I feel like I’m in high school again, ha. Seth Coen aka Adam Brody was my celebrity crush growing up. It’s funny because he’s now become Jono’s favorite character too. Great minds think alike 😉 It’s basically a teenage soap opera, but I have no shame! I remember watching it real time (I had one of those teeny TVs with a built in VHS player in my room) #oldschool. Every week I would sit on the phone with my friend, who was also fully entrenched in the show, during the entirety of that week’s episode. We would oooo and ahhh and share our thoughts during the commercials. Ahhh what a show! Watching it again now brings back so many silly memories! Anyway, I’m still a sucker for embroidery– No news there.  It dominated my 2016, and I think it’ll do the same for 2017. I just can’t get enough! Another 2016 trend that’s here to stay? Tassels. See my other look with Urban Expressions bags here, here …

Dressing For The Cold

In high school, I usually held a season pass for snowboarding, they were cheap and that’s pretty much what I wanted to do over the weekends. These days it’s a bit different… When I got to college I was broke, like any college student, so the last thing on my mind was a season pass– A girl has got to eat! So during the last 6 years, I’ve only gone a handful of times. Well, until now! My work has season passes and I’ve been booking them as much as I can. I have a new found love for boarding– It’s been so fun to get back on the mountain again!  Do you have anything that you once loved, but now love again?  The same thing happened to me with pickles. Random, I know. But I go through food changes, ha.  It’s kind of fun reinventing something old. An old way of doing something or an old hobby. It brings a sense of nostalgia.  About the look– This coat is from ChicWish, I love an …

Velvet Skirt

Sooo this look is from a while ago, so I’ll make it quick… But all of the deets are finally here!  First off, this fab skirt is from KP Lane and it’s on sale for $21.99 (woohoo)! The shop is owned by a friend of mine and she’s seriously the cutest– She has the best taste! Definitely check out KP Lane on Instagram at @shopkplane— You won’t regret it!  More about the look– Call me crazy, but I like to mix and match athleisure, super casual with a more fancy piece and this velvet skirt does the trick. I decided to pair it with this silver puffer for an edgy look. Casual on top, party on the bottom. You know what I’m sayin’? Try it out! You’re bound to love it! And don’t forget to check out KP Lane !! xoxo,  Karlee Shop:

Gimme All The Plaid

It’s impossible for me to leave the house without wearing a big, warm coat these days. My hands are always ice– Like, so freaking cold… My feet are too. Shoes and heavy socks don’t do much for me. I even keep a blanket at my desk at work because burr. FREEZING COLD. Even though the sun shines from time to time, walking outside is pretty miserable. I sometimes think it doesn’t look so bad, and then I have to run to my car from the front door of my work building and the whole time I think it may really be the end… This is what hell feels like– Bitter cold. Call me dramatic but daaaang. I always forget how hard the winters are here.  That my friends is why if you see me, you best believe I’ll be bundled up. You can find this fab coat (it’s mega comfy and almost sold out, so hurry!) at Maude Boutique annnd it’s on super sale!! These booties (also on sale) and my cutesy cactus earrings are also …

Here’s to 2017

Sooo it’s 2017. Cheers to all of the fitness goals that die in February, ha. In all honesty, I might be guilty of that…  I’ve been noticing changes in my body now more than ever (so weird).I’ve noticed that I’m just a little squishier than I used to be… My hubby and I went up skiing yesterday (well, he skis, I snowboard) and we didn’t last long. I used to go all day with no problems, but that is not the case any more. We’re both feeling the soreness today and I’ll be honest I feel a little pathetic. I don’t know why, but it’s really difficult for me to feel driven when it comes to exercise. Maybe it’s because I have no idea what I’m doing. I feel very out of place at the gym! I hope that my workout goals last past February, I reeeally do. I just don’t like it. I used to enjoy working out, buuut it’s kind of torture for me now. I need to get back in the groove and …
