Anybody call for a girls night? ’Tis the season for giving, so kick off your shoes and have a ladies night! There’s just something special about getting together with your gal pals and celebrating the holidays.

Although I could do without Utah’s long winters, I really do enjoy this time of year. It might just be my favorite… The events, the food, and the downright feeling all make this time of year the very most special. I feel I might be even more sentimental since baby girl will be here come January!

Let’s talk holiday prep… Story of all of our lives, right? There’s the decorating, the shopping, the cooking… The list goes on and on!

Although getting everyone together and chillin’ with your family is what this season is all about, I’m also a fan of a good ol’ fashion ladies night (with a twist!).

When you’re 8 months pregnant, prepping for a party, let alone getting out of bed, can be exhausting, but I still want to be able to do nice things for my friend and neighbors. So, for my own sanity, I had to keep it simple.

With that in mind, here are my four simple tips for an awesome (but easy) girls’ gift exchange:

Have a cozy atmosphere. Make sure those decorations are up, girl! Snowmen, reindeer, frosted trees… Whatever is your vibe, run with it! It makes a party so much more fun if your home is comfortable and invites the spirit of the holidays.

Finger foods are where it’s at. Whether you like to make homemade treats or you’d rather purchase pre-made, have yummy snacks that your guests can enjoy. I’ve found that chocolate dipped pretzels (you can even do white chocolate + peppermint like I’ve done, yum!) are always a hit and it’s hard to resist hot apple cider! Also, I’m a firm believer that just because Halloween has passed, it doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a little pumpkin spice 😉

Give the perfect gift. The holidays is such a magical time. I still get giddy this time of year no matter how old I get. It’s funny how much your memories are tied to scents. When I think of the holidays as a kid, I always think of cinnamon. My mom LOVED to have a burning candle in the house and I’ve learned that I do too, especially this time of year. So, this year I decided that I would give the gift of scent with Glade®! They have some delicious seasonal scents right now— My faves are Cozy Cider Sipping™ (totally reminds me of my childhood) and Tree Lighting Wonder™.

Have a theme. There are countless theme ideas for hosting a holiday girls night: Ornament exchange, Secret Santa gift exchange, a holiday gift wrapping party… One of my favorites though, is a Favorite Things party. Not only do you get a fabulous gift that you know is beloved (like these Glade® jar candles!) but you also get to hear why each gift is special to the person giving it and that’s what I plan to do!

Another plus– hosting a girl’s night gift exchange is great because gifts don’t have to be super expensive. The fun of the night is what makes it great!

I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season so far! Be on the lookout for Glade® Holiday Limited Edition Fragrances on display at your local Kroger store now!
