San Diego Trip with Four Seasons

We took our first real family vacation with little Jo and you guys it was so fun! Yes, we went to Oregon a few weeks ago but that was more of a family reunion-ish kind of trip. San Diego was our first trip going to a new place with baby girl while staying in a hotel. It was a much needed little vacay!

For some reason she didn’t do quite as awesome on these flights as she did going to and coming back from Oregon. She screamed her little heart out for a hot sec on the way there and back, which she didn’t do on our Oregon trip. I’m thinking that she may be teething (there are other clues) so we’ll see if this little mama gets some teeth soon! Hopefully she’ll be okay on our flight to Paris in September… Eeek!

On this trip, we stayed at the Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara North San Diego and it was absolutely amazing. YOU HAVE TO GO THERE! Not only was the property gorgeous, but the staff went above and beyond in every single way. We went for Jono’s 30th birthday (woohoo!) and they made it a point to make it special.

Honestly you guys, ABOVE & BEYOND. If you’ve been watching my IG stories you’d know but, they sent a gift and card to our room on Jono’s birthday, put together the cutest little zoo package for us (balloons included!), and supplied s’mores ingredients to participate in their s’mores family night. I was shocked! Who does that? Four Seasons does. That’s who.

They offer tons of family friendly activities like paddle boarding, surf lessons, crafty hour… The list goes on and on! It’s pretty amazing! The hotel also has a really great spa facility (I’m still kicking myself for not getting a pedicure) so I was stoked to try out their meditation class. It didn’t disappoint!

The pool was also a dream. Perfect for little Jo’s first swim! They even had a little kiddy pool on the side for the youngsters.

Not to mention our “room” was incredible. I say “room” because it was more than just a room…

It had a living room, dining space, kitchen, bedroom with master bath + another bathroom, two small decks and my favorite…. A washer & dryer! Having a washer & dryer was SO nice! Especially with little Jo who spits up a ton. You get me if you have messy kids!

The villa honestly felt like home. It was so nice and spacious. I was a little nervous about feeling cramped and stressed traveling with Jo, but we did’t feel that at all. Staying somewhere spacious when you have kids makes such a difference!

The eat in breakfast also helped so that we didn’t feel frazzled in the morning. You better believe that we feasted on breakfast every dang day. It was delicious! #chocolatecroissantsforlife

Our stay was honestly unparalleled to anywhere we’ve ever been. It was fantastic and I can’t wait to go back!

Other things in San Diego—

We went to the San Diego Zoo on Jono’s birthday and had SO. MUCH. FUN. Little Jo absolutely loved it! I knew she would! That girl loves to be outside and so far she loves animals so I knew it’d be a blast for her (and us).

Eats— We ate at The Taco Stand (I had the Pollo taco and the Baja taco) and we also dined at Prado in Balboa Park per the hotel’s recommendation. Jono got a super yummy pork chop dish and I went with a pesto chicken pasta with lemon ricotta. Yes, I said lemon ricotta… Drool away! Both restaurants were delish.

We went to La Jolla beach but it was pretty busy and kinda cold so we didn’t stay for long. Annnd we shopped until we dropped (well, until Jo dropped) at the Fashion Valley Mall. Jono scored a bunch of stuff at Zara on sale sooooo it was a good little spree. I of course found myself at the Anthropologie. No surprise there 😉

I think that’s pretty much it! I’d love to go back to San Diego and explore a little more. And like I said, I would totally stay at the Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara North San Diego again. Hands down! It is such a perfect spot if you’re traveling with a family. They offer so many things to do and the property is beautiful so you really can’t go wrong!

I hope that you’re enjoying your summer so far! Go have some fun!

xoxo,

Karlee
