Spring Everyday Beauty Must-Haves

Okay peeps! When I took a poll last week on my IG, 90% of you said that you’d like to see more beauty content.

Like, whaaa? Amazing! So, as promised, here’s some beauty must-haves coming at you 😉

For this post, I just want to go through my face makeup routine with you.

Okay, so…

What do I recommend?

Let me start by saying that I really don’t do anything fancy. I don’t heavily contour my face or wear a lot of big eyeshadows. I like a more natural look, so the products that I’ll be recommending are to achieve just that.

Where to start– Yo beautiful face, girl!

For a long time, I didn’t wear primer. #rookiemistake

This one from Becca is a tad on the expensive side, but SO worth it. I would never go back to not using it.

Imagine that you have a real life blurring tool for your skin. THIS. IS. IT.

I’m telling you, this stuff is gold!

Next… Foundation?

Well, let me give it to you straight. I don’t wear foundation.

I have combination skin that gets both extremely dry and extremely oily. Blehhh.

I’ve noticed that when I wear foundation, it gets very chunky on my skin and throughout the day begins to separate almost. It makes me look cakey which is sooo not what I’m going for. I want my skin to look like skin!

So what I do use is this tinted finishing powder by Tarte. What I love about it is that it helps smooth the look of your skin and helps even everything out (if you’re like me you might have 17 different naturally occurring colors on your face… #nothanks).

It’s especially perfect for spring and summer because it’s so light!

Concealer, yeah?

As far as concealer goes, I like this one from MAC for spot treatment. I don’t love it for under the eyes. I have almond shaped eyes that have a lot of creases underneath and I honestly haven’t found an under eye concealer that can accomplish looking both smooth aka not cakey, and that evens out the purple and green skin tones under my eyes.

I do however, like this product for under your eyes from First Aid Beauty. I often wear this when I’m not even wearing face makeup. It definitely helps to brighten!

Blush, bronzer, highlighter?

For blush, I love the Sephora brand compacts. They are super affordable and they come in several different colors. Win-win.

I really like this drug store Butter Bronzer. It’s a great color and it goes on soft and smooth rather than super powder if that makes sense. You know, like butter 😉

I use this highlighter from Lorac and it is more on the expensive side… I think it’s worth it, but if you want to try something a little less expensive, I’d recommend this one.

What about my brows?

Girl, I flippin’ love brows. I’m a fan of a natural brow fo sho. I love this brow gel by Essence. It is THE BEST. And I guarantee the best bang for your buck.

Last but not least, brushes!

So here’s the thing. I used really crappy brushes for a long time. So last year I went ahead and splurged a little in the brush region. I’ve linked them for you below. BUT I’ve also linked some super inexpensive alternatives if you’re not feelin’ the price point.

This is the brush that I use when I apply my tinted finishing powder. It bristles are incredibly soft and it holds a good amount of product. Love, love, love.

I use this baby for my bronzer. I really like the contouring shape for applying the bronzer on my cheeks. It’s a winner.

And I use this guy for blush. It’s small, but holds product really well. It makes applying the right amount of blush a breeze.

I use this one for highlighter on my cheeks. The bristles aren’t as compact, so it’s perfect!

I also use this sponge for my concealer!

If you’re like mehhh I don’t want to spend that much on a brush. Girl, I have you covered.

I’d recommend this one for when you apply your tinted finishing powder.

This one or this one for blush.

And this one for bronzer!

A looot of info– I know! And I promise I’ll do a post about my fave lip & eye products!!

Let me know if you have any questions!

xoxo,

Karlee
