It’s finally done! I can’t even believe it… It’s been what seems like forever since we started this project. But ahhhh. I’m so in love.
This was definitely a split between DIY & hiring out. Here’s the breakdown:
What we did:
- Wall paint touch ups
- Re-painted our old cabinets + installed new knobs & pulls
- Shiplap behind the vanity + paint
- Re-attached and painted baseboards
- Hung mirrors, photos, hooks, etc.
- Replaced old light fixtures with new fixtures
What we hired out:
- Plumbing (because you reeeally don’t want to mess that up)
- Tile (we’ve never done tile before and didn’t feel confident doing it. SO glad we hired it out)
- Electrical (We had an electrician move where the vanity light would go because it wasn’t centered with the sink/light)
Basically, everything we knew that we could do, and make it look professional, we did ourselves. We are both kind of perfectionists which works in our favor on these sorts of projects. We are super happy with the balance and how everything turned out!
Can you believe the before and after?!
And I know you’re dying to know…
We went with Tilebar for all of our tile. They have a 5 samples for $5 deal and it is totally worth it. Plus, their selection is huge! I would definitely recommend them.
Here are our exact tile choices:
- Basic Bianco Marble 12×24 Matte Porcelain Tile
- Basic Marble Lasa Bianco 2×2 Satin Porcelain Mosaic Tile
- Portmore Gray 3×8 Glazed Ceramic Tile
