This master bedroom update is something that I’ve been thinking about for a while. Although we LOVE our retro dressers, we wanted something that felt like ours you know?
I really wanted to give the space a more modern feel with neutral colors that will last the test of time.
To start any project, I first need to visualize a color palette. I knew I wanted the space to feel calming, so I really wanted to stick with mostly neutral pieces– Nothing too loud. I ended up sticking with grays, blacks, whites & creams, leather, soft wood grains and highlights of gold.
I’ve been increasingly drawn to more clean lines and solid, or at least subtle, patterns. The pieces that I find I’m attracted to are much more simple and timeless these days. Like this bed! I’ve been seeing this velvet paneling style headboard all over my Pinterest and I looove it. It was definitely high on my priority list to makeover this room.
The style for our master falls somewhere in between earthy and modern. I love modern and contemporary pieces, but for me I like them best when paired with items that are a little more warm. It can be a delicate balance! All in all, I want our home to feel cozy, clean, and up to date.
