Heyooo! Spring has sprung peeps! Here in Utah the nice weather sort of comes & goes (it’s been storming a lot lately) but I’m hopeful that the sun will come soon to stay. Ya feel me? Even though the weather hasn’t been awesome, I’ve been so excited to share this outdoor space that I partnered with Grandin Road to create. They have such CUTE outdoor pieces that are bold & fun which is exactly what I wanted for this space!
As I was decorating, I came up with 4 tips for creating an outdoor space that you’ll love–
Brighten things up. Take inspo from the season that surrounds you– Spring! And what says spring more than bright, playful colors?! Think pops of pinks, corals, & oranges. The outdoors allows for a bold palette, so go with it! Plus, using bright colors will help your space to feel FUN! Of course if you’re more into subtle hues or neutrals, your space will still look fab. But don’t be afraid to be bold with your palette if you’re feelin’ it!
Go with your flow. Let your personal style, and the style of your home indoors, come out with your outdoor decor. This will help your home (including your outdoor space) feel seamless. You don’t have to get all matchy, matchy, but make sure that your space feels like YOU. You’ll be a lot more likely to utilize it if it feels like your vibe!
Mix & match, baby. Pattern mixing can be scary, but if done right it can be fab-u-lous. I’ve done some subtle mixing for our outdoor space that still allows the space to feel cohesive. Mixing & matching also helps a space to feel interesting (which is what I want)!
Keep square footage in mind. You want to be able to enjoy your space, so try not to overcrowd it. I chose petite pieces because my deck is pretty small. If you have a large outdoor space, you might gravitate toward more full looking furniture. Whatever size space you have, keep that in mind when you’re choosing items to fill it!
